Quilters Provide Comfort to Victims of Marshall Fire

Unfortunately on December 30, 2021 the Marshall Fire ravaged the Boulder area and destroyed more than 1000 homes. So many lives were upended on this frightening day. The community came together to help those in need. As winter is here, one of the main items needed is blankets to help keep warm. Members of the Arapahoe County Quilters (APQ) came together to make and donate quilts families in need. I got a chance to interview and photograph members and learn about the comfort that quilts provide to these in need. You can read the article here.

Tif vonBatsy at Fan Expo Denver

This weekend I attended Fan Expo Denver and shadowed a cosplayer named Tif vonBatsy! She was cosplaying as Mirajane’s Satan Soul: Halphas, from the Fairy Tail Guild anime universe. I’m producing a story on her for The Denver Voice newspaper on what its like being a BIPOC cosplayer. It was such a fantastic experience hanging out with her and learning a lot of information about cosplay. I’m looking forward to the article coming out and sharing. In the meantime, here are some photos from the event:
