What an honor to discover I made a list of best street photographers in Denver by Peerspace. I didnt even know about this until another street photographer on Instagram put it in his stories. I’ve never made a ‘Best of list’ and feel this is such an accomplishment to know that people are recognizing my work.
My First Newspaper Assignment with Denver Voice
I recently become a contributor to the Denver Voice, a free newspaper here in Denver that facilitates a dialogue addressing the roots of social injustices while offering economic, educational, and empowerment opportunities to impoverished communities.
I was thrilled to receive my first assignment, photographing a Covid-19 vaccination event at Lincoln High School. The vaccination clinic was focused on Latino’s & minorities, which make up less than 30% of Denver’s Covid vaccinations. The event didn’t have a high turnout but it was great experience shooting my first assignment for a news organization.
Juneteenth 2021
Denver is one of the biggest Juneteenth celebrations in the country and this year President Biden signed Juneteenth into law as a Federal Holiday. The Denver Five Points neighborhood came up and showed out with so much support and Black Pride for this years celebration. From Hip-Hop & Jazz music, majorettes, dancers, black Caribbean flavor and car rally this years event was spectacular!

Diversify Photo Up Next Photographers
Earlier this year I applied to be a member of Diversify Photo, an organization that promotes diversity among photographers. Diversify allows photographers who are people of color into a database where editors at major media companies to seek diverse visual storytellers. I’m happy to announce that my work was seen and selected for the ‘Photographers Up Next’ section. According to Diversify, my photo work is in the process of moving to the next step of having engaging visual stories from a photographer that is a person of color. I’m looking forward to continuing to build my photo work and see what stories I tell going forward
